Calvin Dorman Reavis, 85, of rural Paola, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Olathe Medical Center following a short illness.

He was born October 28, 1930 in Flint, Michigan to Horace Amber and Bertha Susan Hutson Reavis. He and his twin brother Melvin were the youngest of five children.

Mr. Reavis grew up in Salem, Arkansas and graduated from Salem High School in 1951. Soon after graduation, he moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where he worked for 30 years for General Motors at the Leeds Assembly Plant. He married Grace Ellen Chance on November 22, 1958 and they had two sons. The family moved to rural Paola in 1979. After moving to Miami County and retiring from General Motors, he worked part-time at Price Chopper in Paola for several years. He attended Victory Baptist Church in Osawatomie.

He loved to read, especially Christian novels and Zane Grey westerns. He read the Bible every morning and read through the entire Bible several times during his lifetime.

His faith and his family were his priorities.
