Marjorie "Ann" New, age 84, of Paola, Kansas, formerly of Osawatomie, Princeton, and Centerville, died July 22, 2016 at Vintage Park Assisted Living, Paola, Kansas.

Ann was born April 29, 1932 at Kansas City, Missouri. She was the daughter of Thomas and Hazel (Dobbs) Irvine. She grew up and attended school in the Kansas City, Missouri area.

She was united in marriage to Howard New on June 5, 1961 at Garnett, Kansas. They made their home in Princeton, Kansas, then moved to Centerville. In July of 2009, they moved to Osawatomie. Ann moved to Vintage Park Assisted Living in Paola February of 2015.

Ann was a homemaker. Being a homemaker, she worked diligently alongside her husband on their dairy farm.

Ann was known for being mischievous and playful, as well as her delightful sense of humor, and she was a devout Prayer Warrior.

She enjoyed reading spiritual books. She loved fishing, gardening, and many other outdoor activities. Her favorite pastime was the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was a member of the Princeton Christian Church.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard who died June 25, 2014, a sister Betty Rowden, three sons Bruce Rosebaum and Walter and Jimmy New.

She is survived by her daughters Dorothy Welch of Princeton, Betty (Jack) Mauk of North Fort Meyers, Florida, Susan Keast of Paola, and Pam (Doug) Dunlop of Parker, Kansas; her brother Glen Irvine of Streeter, North Dakota; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

Contributions in memory of Ann may be given to Catholic Community Hospice in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 605 O'Neal Ave., Osawatomie, KS, 66064.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Catholic Community Hospice and staff of Paola Vintage Park Assisted Living for their compassionate care.
