Linda Sue Johnson, age 67, of Iola, Kansas, passed away August 25, 2016.

Linda was born May 14, 1949, at Parsons, Kansas. She was the daughter of Clarence Edward and Vida E. (Riley) Gambill. Her parents were farmers and she spent may years growing up and living in the surrounding Iola area.

Although she worked for Haldex in Iola for 30 plus years, her true calling in life was to her family. She was a daughter, a mother, a grandmother, a mother-in-law, a sister, an aunt, a cousin, and a friend. She made it her life accomplishment to keep those around her feeling loved, needed, appreciated, cared for, and happy. She was the type of person who never really cared too much about receiving, but always loved to give. If she couldn't make you smile with her sure presence, she could make you smile by cooking or baking. After all, the best way to a person's heart is through their stomach!

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Agnes Morlan and Phyllis Gumfory, and one brother Mike Gambill.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and Jason Hodge and one granddaughter Trinity all of Parker; three brothers Dewey and Dave Gambill of Iola and Bill Gambill of Coffeyville; four sisters Darlene Sparks of Leavenworth, Patricia Sprowl of Iola, Peggy Niemeyer of Iola, and Barbara Hembre of Pratt; other relatives and friends.
