Yolanda "Lynn" Pearce, age 75, of Osawatomie, Kansas, died Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the Life Care Center of Osawatomie.

Lynn was born August 24, 1941 at Paola, Kansas. She was the second of six children born to William Orion and Mildred "Millie" Maxine (Thompson) Hoffman. She grew up in Paola and graduated from Paola High School with the Class of 1958.

Lynn was united in marriage to Roy Pearce in February of 1974. They made their home on their farm east of Beagle for several years before moving to California. From California they moved back to their farm east of Beagle in 1996. They moved into Osawatomie city limits in 2006.

Lynn worked at the Miami County Hospital as a cook and then at the Osawatomie School District in the school cafeteria's snack bar. She was part owner of J & L Outlet on Main Street in Osawatomie.

She was a great cook and an excellent coconut cream pie baker. She enjoyed playing Bingo, reading romance novels, watching the Royals and the Chiefs, horseback riding, crossword puzzles, card games especially Skip-Bo and Uno, going to rodeos, and crafts. She was lovingly known as "Grandma Cookie" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She attended Beagle United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Elizabeth Hoffman, and one brother Dale Hoffman.

She is survived by her husband Roy of the home; sons Jeff McCulley of Paso Robles, California, Merlin (Debbie) Pearce of Paola, and Doug (Jennie) Pearce of Lane; two daughters Margaret (Daryl) Barnes of Baldwin City and Laura Smith of Drexel, MO; siblings Orion Eugene (Sheryl) Hoffman of Spring Hill, Rita (Ken) Biggin of San Marcos, CA and Dorothy Gulick of Mission, Kansas; 6 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Dalton Sylva, Seth Schlesener, Charles Light, Garrett Pearce, Brayden Pearce, and Shawn Barnes will serve as pallbearers for their grandmother. Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Wendt, Daryl Barnes, Brian Barker, Dale Sylva, Thom Hoffman, Aaron Gulick, Jeff Pearce, and Carl Gulick.

Contributions in memory of Lynn can be made to the American Heart Association or the Kidney Foundation and can be sent care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 605 O'Neal Ave., Osawatomie, KS, 66064.
