William “Bill” Hougland, age 82, of Hillsdale, Kansas, died Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Overland Park, Kansas.

Bill was born May 11, 1934 at Olathe, Kansas. He was the younger of two children born to Sherman and Anna Jane (Wentworth) Hougland. He grew up in Olathe and graduated from Olathe High School with the Class of 1953.

In July of 1957, he was united in marriage to Helen Louise Nelson at Sapulpa, Oklahoma. They became the parents of two daughters, Arlene and Lisa.

Bill worked as a printer in the printing industry. He retired in 2006.

He enjoyed coon hunting, his horses and mules. But, most of all, he enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends. He will be remembered as a kind and generous man who will be greatly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
