Mary K. Bruce, 75, native of Miami County, Kansas passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at her home in Paola.

Mary Kay was born January 23, 1940 in rural Louisburg, Kansas. She was the daughter of Vernon A., Sr. and Pearl T. (Pope) Town. She graduated from Louisburg High School with the Class of 1957.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Vernon A. Town, Jr.

Mary Kay is survived by her husband Jim of the home; four daughters and their spouses Kathie and Corey Iverson of Shawnee, Chili and Mark Allen of rural Fontana, Jamie and Curtis Hawkins of Osawatomie, and Kelly and James Fricke of Leavenworth; 8 grandchildren; 4 great granddaughters; 1 step grandson; 1 step granddaughter; 1 step great granddaughter; many other relatives and friends.

Contributions in memory of Mary Kay can be made to American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

A private memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 605 O'Neal Ave., Osawatomie, KS, 66064.
